‘Diamonds on the Water’ – In the summertime, I sit on the warm sandy beach of Lake Winnipeg. The late afternoon heat emanates from the sand as I watch the golden light of the sun dance on the rippling surface of the water. With a soft gaze, the sunlight appears as shimmering diamonds on the water.
The Brass domes represent the sun and the leather fringe represent the water.
 
Brass, metallic Italian lambskin in gold + rose gold, vanilla cow hide, Copper rivets, and Sterling Silver.
 
The process:
Brass sheet metal, is cut, filed, sanded, and hammered into two half-dome shapes. The textured domes are polished to a high shine and coated with a hypoallergenic clear coat, which prevents the metal from dulling.
The metallic gold + rose gold Italian lambskin and vanilla cow hides are meticulously cut into fine fringes, which give these earrings their unique movement.
Copper wire is cut and hammered into place (hand-made rivets), holding the 5-layers of these earrings in place.
Handcrafted Sterling Silver Sheppard hooks add the finishing detail... perfect for those with sensitive ears.
