‘Crescens’ – Handcrafted Copper Earrings
 
Crescens – Latin word meaning: ‘growing’: the process of developing or maturing physically, mentally, and/or spiritually… and these earrings are an embodiment of that.
 
The crescent shape of these handcrafted earrings reflects the distinctive reddish-orange colour and bright metallic luster that only Copper has. And, there are many benefits to wearing Copper jewelry, including its electrical conductivity (which is good for blood flow and circulation) and its antimicrobial properties.
 
As you may know… growth is not easy. It requires focus, discipline and courage. But when we are guided by a strong purpose and faith, growth becomes a natural byproduct of the journey, helping us to develop and mature, often in unexpected and unforeseeable ways.
 
I had originally wanted to name these earrings ‘Crescent’, but when researching the word, I came across a man named ‘Crescens’ (which is where the Latin word for ‘growing’ comes from). He was a man of character, who was steadfast in his mission, even though the cost was great (2 Timothy 4:10). Crescens was not distracted by fear, or by worldly treasures… he was a man single-pointedly committed to his purpose.
 
It is my hope that these earrings help to remind you of your purpose, to not give into the pressures or endless distractions of the world, but to stay faithfully on course to serve your personal growth.
