Life on the Canadian Prairies is not for the faint of heart. Wild weather and large yearly temperature swing make the prairies uniquely beautiful. The best part of living on the prairies is watching the sun move across the sky, from horizon to horizon. It beckons one outdoors to venture into the wild unknown.
The 'Prairie Life' Collection has been inspired by my daily life on the Canadian Prairies.

'TO THE POINT'
'To the Point' - These handmade hoops with gemstone points help to remind us that life, at its essence, is simple and beautiful… although it can be all too easy to get bogged down in the muck and mire of day-to-day details, and the drama that life seems to occasionally stir up.
In a world full of distractions, emotions, and drama, getting straight to the point is clarifying and refreshing. It is akin to a double-edged sword that cuts through the details and pierces clean through to the heart of matter. And, just like developing any new skill, communicating with clarity requires practice, steady effort over time, and much trial and error.
Over the years, I have learned that getting straight to the point (especially in difficult situations), is not easy, but it is worth the temporary discomfort. It helps to clear the air and move through emotions in order to deepen relationships. It requires courage, inner-strength, and faith.
It is my hope that these earrings serve as a reminder of the simplicity and beauty of life, especially in challenging situations that require you to dig deep and get straight to the point.

‘Where the Wild Things Roam’ – Winter on the Canadian prairies is harsh and unforgiving, but that does not deter me from venturing outdoors. Bundled in layers of wool and fur, I head for the snowy banks of the Red River. One may think that there is not much to see this time of year, but the monochromatic landscape is alive with muted colours, textures, and movements… if one has the eyes to see. Swirling snow blows down the river channel, while the mice, rabbits, deer, fox, and coyote roam freely.
