'Soul Train' - Handmade, One-of-a-Kind, Copper, Rust and Metallic Leather Fringe Adjustable Necklace
 
I am a product of the 1970s and was raised on Solid Gold, Soul Train, and Motown.
On Saturday mornings, decked out in my mom's spandex and costume jewelry, you'd find me in the basement, the sound on the television cranked right up, taking-in the wild fashion, glittering jewelry, and trying out all the latest dance moves.
I dreamed of becoming a Solid Gold dancer. I wanted nothing more than to get dressed up, adorn myself in jewelry, and dance my heart out.
 
Although my Solid Gold dreams never manifested, I got the next best thing... creating jewelry inspired from those childhood memories.
 
Handmade copper,  + rust, and metallic leather fringe, and sparkles, and....oh, my! 
 
The process:
This piece begins with a sheet of Copper, which is hand-cut into two crescent shapes. 
The Copper is then filed, hammered into shaped and polished.
Leather is cut from three different hides : rust, gold, rose gold, and meticulously cut into fine fringes.
The leather pieces are then pierced and hand-stitched.
The copper and leather sections are attached together with brass eyelets, where the copper chains (adorned with hematite gemstones + crystals), hang from.
A handcrafted copper 'S' hook is created... and can be attached anywhere along the chain, making this piece adjustable in length.
 
Gemstones: Hematite (Gold, Silver, Copper)
Leather:  Rust Cow Hide + Gold and Rose Gold Lambskin
Metal: Copper
Length: The front leather fringe is 17.15cm/ 6.75 inches in length
 
This necklace is adjustable in length and is designed to fit every body.
